A room with a view

So Christopher has now moved into his own room. Severe separation anxiety and bit of trauma but otherwise Jenny and I are ok. Christopher was quite happy with the transition. What a pleasure to be able to read in bed again, it is amazing how the little things start to count. He is also been sleeping until 7:30am for the past couple of days, long may it last!

Christopher is now also starting to get a lot more vocal, and has even found out how to laugh! Not too sure whether having him laugh at me is a good thing or not, does he find me funny or a bit of a joke?

We also have decided to take weekend walks with him, it gives us a bit of family time and with Jenny at home on maternity leave and me working from home it does us all good to get out a bit. So for the first outing we took a walk around Kalkbay harbour and then introduced Chris to the Brass Bell. He can never be too young to learn about the simple pleasures of life!

Chris is becoming more attentive, and as a result needs more and more stimulation. So it is starting to get quite tiring trying to keep him stimulated, there are no long periods of him being fascinated by his fingers. Well, the only exception being the fact that he REALLY enjoys sucking his fingers. Of course he is also discovering that you can have too much of a good thing. When he does manage to get all his fingers in his mouth his gag reflex kicks in. These little life lessons really do start early on.

He is also developing impecable timing, he fell asleep while walking and slept while we ordered our meals, and had our drinks and as soon as the meals arrived he started crying and wanted attention. Jenny is getting awfully good at eating one-handed.

The college fund is now standing at $35.12, or 128,407 Zambian Kwacha.
